Important Me

If you have a pet you will know what I mean when I say they wrap themselves around your heart and manage to take over the whole household! They have everyone doing their bidding in the shortest space of time. But what they take from us and 'demand' sometimes, is more than paid back though, by the love and company they give us and the humour we find in their characters.
Smokey was no exception. We had him such a short while before he went out one day and never returned. He was only 8 months old when he disappeared. I like to think that he is with a family or an old person and giving them the pleasure he gave us for the short time we had him.
He is irreplaceable and we still miss him a year after he left.
For the layout 'Important Me' I used two shades of blue paint dabber on large stamps to make a background and stamped on contrasting paper with the 'original' and 'important' stamps. I did the journaling on the computer because 'Smokey' had a fair bit to say and I needed to fit it on the page!

  1. This is beautiful, love the background you created.

I know how you feel. I still miss Mindy just last year aged 13 never came home. I searched the streets but found nothing. I'm hoping she is with someone but I fear she might have known it was her 'time' and took herself off to be in peace. :(

  4. Aw, Smokey is gorgeous and I hope too that he has another loving family to pander to his every whim! Love how you've arranged the text and the colours are fabulous. Thanks for playing along with the challenge.

  5. Smokeys story tugged at my heart strings as did Carmens comment. We have 'lost' cats and we have had cats disappear and it never gets any easier to bear. One of ours did find a new home ...we spotted her 8moths later but she looked so happy we said nothing ...another went walkabouts for 3 weeks at the age of 20 !!!! They really stay in your heart forever.

  6. Awww, what a bittersweet story. Your journaling is so sweet, it made me smile. Love how you wrote it from his perspective. He was/is a beautiful cat. I'm sure you still miss him.

Your layout is so pretty! I love the blue and pink combination, and how you added the little trincket from his collar as souvenir. Great job on the "Truefriend- Wrapped around his little Paws " challenge. TFS.
