Siblings

This is a two-page layout with pictures of my daughters taken at different stages of them growing up. Because of that there is no date on the layout and it was difficult to think of a title. So instead of a title I included quotes about Siblings. I also used plain vellum and did some roughly torn cutouts to show the girls' faces.
Siblings. We love them or hate them don't we? Sometimes both at once! There are six years between my only sibling and me. My sister started school when I was born, she went to secondary school when I started primary school, and started Teacher Training when I went to secondary school! We had completely different lives, different friends, different interests. I distinctly remember being dragged around historic houses on our one week summer holiday every year, because she planned out our itinerary and she loved History! I hated it at the time but now, perversely, I enjoy looking round old buildings.
We were never close and even today we rarely pick up the phone to speak to each other. I do envy people their closeness to their brothers or sisters, but I'm sure you're going to tell me it's not all fun!
Luckily my daughters get along well and the thirteen month gap in their ages means they have grown up together. But are they alike? No way! They are like chalk and cheese, not only to look at, but in character too.
Now that their adult lives are just beginning and they start University, my one hope is that they keep in touch and are always there for each other. An occasional phonecall home would be welcome too!

  1. Beautiful LO Ann, love the vellum windows. Ahh siblings, I have 3. In measures they are my everything and my nightmare...but I wouldn't be who I am without them and I wouldn't be without them!
