Questions. Questions....

Vicki at 'The Biskit Barrel' has taken part in Questions, questions.....and I've had a go too!
One word answers are required and a link back to the site you got the questions from. The desire to write more than one word was, for me, almost overwhelming! I want the chance to explain everything but I can't.
If you want  to answer these questions, even just in your head, I've a question at the end.

1. Where is your cell/mobile phone? Handbag
2. Your hair? Brown
3. Your mother? Elderly
4. Your father? Eightyfive
5. Your favourite food? Broccoli
6. Your dream last night? Hospital
7. Your favourite drink? Tea
8. Your dream/goal? Holiday
9. What room are you in? Cupboard
10. Your hobby? Papercraft
11. Your fear? Illness
12. Where do you want to be in 6 years? Library
13.Where were you last night? Home
14. Something that you aren’t? Pretty
15. Muffins? Biscuits
16. Wish list item? Craftroom
17. Where did you grow up? Buckinghamshire
18. Last thing you did? Blog-hopped
19. What are you wearing? Thermals
20. Your TV? Off
21. Your pet? Gone
22. Friends? One
23. Your life? Stressful
24. Your mood? Calm
25. Missing someone? Yes
26. Vehicle? Feet
27. Something you’re not wearing? Makeup
28. Your favourite store? Bookshop

32. Your best friend? Stella
33. One place that you go to over and over? Work
34. One person who emails you regularly? Bank
35. Favourite place to eat? Home

This question idea is quite light-hearted but thought-provoking. So, looking at your answers, would you say that your glass is half-full or half-empty?
There's also a thought-provoking challenge here  http://itsallaboutmechallenge.blogspot.com/    - and they are looking for a Design Team member if you're interested?
Me? 'Fraid not, I'm still thinking about their Challenge which I'm finding a really tough one to do!

Denim Overkill And Computer Backup

Who likes the colour blue? We three I guess...and definitely denim overkill!
Here I am with my daughters at the Sand Sculptures in Brighton a few years ago. The exhibition was fantastic. If you've never been to such a display I can thoroughly recommend it! They are so lifelike.
People over 'Shozzy's Place' have been recalling the heart-breaking loss of their photos because they didn't back up their computers and, coincidentally, I was just doing my photo backup. I've just got a 'Clickfree' data storage device and it's been so easy, it works by itself, just plug it in! That's perfect for me as I'm not a 'techy' - I'm completely self-taught, and for someone who never had even one computer in her school, I get by. But ask me to do something 'technical' and I go to pieces!
I had forgotten what was on the computer and all the precious memories that could be lost! Including these photos from summer 2005. At least I think it was 2005 - another thing about photos is you MUST date them and I haven't!

Egyptian Theme for the Sculptures

and the occasional joke by the artists!

Finally.......

.........now you know where my Blogger photo comes from!

Card For A Good Friend

I often make cards with no-one in mind and keep them for the right occasion. Can't stop the creative process even if there's not a birthday coming up for a while, can I?!
I've made this card and now it's finished I know just who to send it to....my friend in Aylesbury who I left behind when we moved down here to Brighton. We left our families there too. I haven't seen her in over 15 years but we have kept in touch by e-mail. She's 'listened' to my moans and grumbles, work problems, children leaving home etc etc and deserves a Thank You.
Inside the card it says 'because of you my world is a happy place' and it's true. She has been a tremendous support despite being so far away.
Sometimes only a girl-friend will do! You know what I mean.

Christmas Cards Again

Sorry for the poor photos today, the light is very bad again. I'm back to making Christmas cards once more! Thankfully, only a few more to go and I will have made the number I need. I'm back to my favourite colour, blue, and have used Daisy Ds paper and stamps from Creative Expressions. I used sparkly embossing powder 'Disco Black' from Stamp 'n' Stuff and a glitter Sakura pen in blue to colour in. The stamped images are 3D which doesn't really show on the photo.
These stamps are made to be used with Nestabilities circle dies, but although I love the small scallop circles in the range, I cannot justify the cost at the moment. I have a circle cutter and swivel knife which just has to do instead!
I was inspired by Kaz on her blog 'Slightly Wonky Crafts' to try white embossing on purple patterned paper.

Here I used Graphicus and Papermania stamps and detail white embossing powder.
But I only made two purple Christmas cards as I prefer the black embossing. It's more dramatic I think.
Each to his (or her) own.
